Top Turkey Tip from Lizzy B!
Try using cooked, cubed turkey or chicken in the Dazzling Delhi! By substituting cooked meat for the chicken fillets suggested on the recipe, you will reduce the cooking time needed and enjoy using up any left overs! Here we go: At step 2 : just stir-fry the Spices (in sachet 2) as instructed for 2 – 3 minutes, do not add the cooked turkey yet At step 3 : add the Spices (in sachet 3) and the other ingredients as instructed (leave out the uncooked chicken!) , then stir in the cooked turkey, bring the pot to a simmer and cook through for about 5 minutes Make sure the curry is piping hot before you move on to step 4 Then follow the rest of the instructions.
Lizzy B’s Mulled wine
yes, we have done what we promised last year and now you can get easy – to –use safe packs of spices, ready to make your mulled wine Top Tip – if you like a citrus zing – add a splash of orange juice (not freshly squeezed unless you strain it in!!) ....but for an extra punch of warmth add a splash of Brandy! CHEERS!
Terrific Tandoori Recipe Idea from Sue G Mix all the spice sachets together in a plastic bag with a large pot of fat free yoghurt (it's easier to coat the chicken in a bag) and marinade for about 2-3hours, then cook in the oven or BBQ. VERY LOW fat spicy chicken supper!! It's very good for weight watchers. Also good for people with gluten and wheat allergies. A note should be added to the recipe - it is quite "spicy hot"! (Thanks Sue, this looks like it would really have a kick to it)
"FISH-TASTIC"
HERE ARE SOME IDEAS FOR YOU TO USE FISH WITH LIZZY B
Terrific Tandoori : You can substitute salmon fillets instead of chicken or Tofu.
Follow the instructions using 4 salmon fillets, but leave the fillets flat when you have spread the stuffing on top. Just drizzle with oil and wrap lightly in foil. Simply terrific!
Satay Sizzler
TOP TIPS
"WRAP IT UP!"
Terrific Tandoori and Sizzling Satay make fabulous fillings for wraps
You can serve them whilst the Lizzy B is still warm, or to use up any cold leftovers for a light and easy lunch or snack
Wrap with some crispy lettuce leaves (- rocket leaves are great for an extra peppery tang!) and a squeeze of lemon juice - or lime juice is great with the Satay! "CREAM - I - LESS" To keep the creamy texture and flavour of Dazzling Delhi , but reduce the calories, try using reduced-fat Crème Fraiche instead of the single cream ... another option is to use Coconut Milk for a tropical twist - again look out for the 'light' variety. If you have any ideas - do please email us and we will post it on this page to share with other Lizzy B fans |
